Thanks, Ben. It's disasters like this that have pushed me to be so obsessive about taking notes, backing files up two and three times, and so on.

Mark, hope all is going well with you. I actually had this same problem and couldn't figure out what happened. I read your post and had an ahhhhhh moment. I actually found a new tool that I've been using for a ever since then that I've enjoyed. It's www.evernote.com, I'm still striving to reach your level of organization and note taking, maybe I'll get there some day. :)

Yep .... I agree the SPD and VS2008 concept is a mess. I am a "Office Power User" and I switched to VS 2008 (Professional Edition). And what a shame ... I run into the same message. My sites run on a server farm and it is not possible for me to run my VS on the farm. There is no how to for such situations. I am so frustrated ... wasting my time and money with MS products.

that's microsoft for u... too many ways to do one thing and in the end amounts to nothing... back to square one.

microsoft gives you tools to build something easily, but along the way the tool breaks or has missing parts. then you spend ur time fixin the tool instead of workin on ur projex. after some time u figured u can't fix the tool so u go back to the project and try to hack or find a workaround...by the time ur done u realize the amount amount of time spent fixin the whole thing cancelled the purpose of the tool which is to make things easy and fast.

i apologize for this rant. i wish microsoft would focus more on interoperability than money.
