First Radio Station on Mars?

Apparently Curiosity isn’t only a science mission.  We’ve just put humanity’s first radio station on Mars!

Charles Bolden, NASA Administrator, speaks to the team at the JPL:

"Reach for the Stars", by, beamed back:

When I first heard that Curiosity was broadcasting from Mars, I thought they meant they had sent speakers up with the rover and were literally belting out tunes across the Martian desert.  Given how thin Mars’ atmosphere is (less than 1% of Earth’s at sea level). they’d need one serious amp.

An audience would be nice, too.
